Be GOOD and
Do GOOD. Yogi Bhajan
This is our philosophy in a nutshell.
You probably have to start with the third line: do things that are good for yourself and others, then you feel good and ultimately you will be very good.
Along the same line but a little more extended are these words of Guru Nanak, a beloved holy man from India who lived in the 15th century:
Nanak Naam Chardi Kelaa Téré Banai Sarbat da Belaa.
Nanak Naam Drop your ego, be yourself!
Chardi Kelaa So the spirit (the kundalini) may rise.
Téré Banè By Thy grace:
Sarbat da Belaa Goodness to all.
